Looks like UCS 3.1.1 is also affected by linked Bug. Would it be possible to fix this in UCS, too?

Yes, we will import the new kernel via Bug #30887.

We will not ship a UCS 3.1-2 release; the next UCS release will be UCS 3.2.

As such, this bug is moved to the new target milestone.

Updated kernel packages with the referenced patch are already available as a kernel update since the 25 of March 2013:

The referenced patch is http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=29e9bf1841e4f9df13b4992a716fece7087dd237 which has been merged into th 3.2.35 LTS kernel: 
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/ChangeLog-3.2.35

This kernel is included the errata update mentioned above.

Bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=695209 has been fixed with linux-image-3.2.0-ucs31-amd64 according to changelog.
