+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #30173 +++

Currently open-vm-tools depends on "ethtool" and "zerofree" which are both only available in unmaintained. 

We should move those packages to maintained.

These are both only Recommends, open-vm-tools should be installable with only maintained enabled.
