While doing initial tests i noticed that at least the following issues must be addressed in the cloud-init package:

- Remove upstart references from initscripts
- Set correct initscript order
Comment 4 Erik Damrose univentionstaff 2014-08-15 16:56:35 CEST
The package univention-cloud-init is available in the cloud-init scope for ucs3.2.
With supplied cloud-config userdata it currently supports:
- Join system on boot
- Import license file on boot
- Install apps on boot

Additionally, the packages cloud-init, cloud-utils and cloud-initramfs-tools (and their build dependencies) have been patched and imported to the scope cloud-init.
Comment 5 Erik Damrose univentionstaff 2014-09-18 15:06:10 CEST
During an initial boot the UCRV apache2/startsite should point to a seperate webpage which informs the user that the instance is currently provisioned. After finishing the setup, the default startsite should be configured; A javascript should reload the page every few seconds, so the user gets automatically redirected.
Comment 6 Erik Damrose univentionstaff 2015-01-20 09:16:02 CET
As discussed, cloud-init is available for UCS 4. It will not be integrated as a product feature in UCS 3.2
