Description Florian Best univentionstaff 2014-07-25 13:55:34 CEST
The join credentials are currently questioned by displaying a pop up.
This doesn't look comfortable.
It would be nicer if the wizard contains another page where join credentials are displayed.
The page could also contain a checkbox whether the join process should be done.

The change wouldn't have only optical benefits but also it would be simpler to implement a validation of the join credentials (because the dialog is currently shown after the validation of changes).
E.g. a warning could be shown if the password is wrong (etc.) before the actual join process starts which would lead to an failed join progress which is a bad user experience.

Making the join process optional is also good because currently you are not able to start system-setup configuration when the master can not be reached (e.g. if you don't have network connection(/correct subnets, gateways) which you want to configure via system-setup).

Some ideas what could be checked in a validation:
* DC master reachable and is UCS+master system
* username, password ssh authentacation works
* UCS version is higher/equal to current system
* another object with the same MAC already exists
