If "join during installation" is not selected the message
 "Der angegebene DNS-Server […] ist nicht Teil einer gültigen UCS-Domäne."
still disallows installation, although that should not be a requirement.

Ok, this was when installing a slave. On a dc master one can just exit firefox with ctrl+q to skip joining

Would it be enough to mark the DNS server as not required? When joining a UCS system, the DNS settings are validated anyhow.

With the upcoming installation dvd one can continue anyway.
