... I could reproduce this behaviour with a UCS 4.0-1 VM. This also might cause problems with the UMC server and UMC web server such that no consecutive login is possible.

In addition to that, I did not see a JavaScript message that no module is available.

The problem has been observed in a UCS@school environment where a user tried to login with his email address.

A login with the primary email address is now possible.
The canonicalized username is passed through to the frontend in the /umcp/auth request.
