After installing univention-kdm and univention-kde i still see the welcome screen and no display manager (kdm), even after the reboot, no kdm. I had to

/etc/init.d/univention-welcome-screen stop
/etc/init.d/kdm  restart

to get the kdm running.

This was done on purpose. The welcome screen contains a link in the bottom to stop it which would offer to get to the KDM login manager.
