Description Alexander Kläser univentionstaff 2016-05-25 14:20:38 CEST
Currently, the script disable-apache2-umc avoids apache and UMC restarts during an update. However, this can lead to problems as described at Bug 41203.

From Bug 41203, comment 2:
> [...]
> Why is UMC mucking with Apache2 restarts?
> Please teach UMC to handle connections problems and to re-connect instead of
> breaking binaries during package upgrade.
> dpkg must be able to stop/[re]start processes during upgrade, especially
> binaries using dynamic module loading like Apache!

We have also Problems ins Ticket#2016053121000211

Recognising why the UMC is not starting and not logging anymore is very difficult, especially if there were no hints in the updater.log

Apache was still running while a start of the umc and umc-web-server was not possible.
