Description Florian Best univentionstaff 2016-06-17 08:07:21 CEST
Version: 4.1-2 errata202 (Vahr)

Failed to load module setup: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libndr-nbt.so.0: invalid ELF header
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "%PY2.7%/univention/management/console/protocol/modserver.py", line 100, in _load_module
    self.__module = __import__(file_, [], [], modname)
  File "%PY2.7%/univention/management/console/modules/setup/__init__.py", line 56, in <module>
    from univention.lib.admember import lookup_adds_dc, connectionFailed, failedADConnect
  File "%PY2.7%/univention/lib/admember.py", line 44, in <module>
    from samba.dcerpc import nbt, security
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/samba/__init__.py", line 51, in <module>
    from samba._ldb import Ldb as _Ldb
ImportError: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libndr-nbt.so.0: invalid ELF header

It is not possible to import samba.dcerpc and therefore not possible to import univention.lib.admember and therefore not possible to load any system-setup module.

Setting to component Samba4 and severity to critical (IMHO).
Comment 1 Florian Best univentionstaff 2016-06-17 08:52:07 CEST
The following scripts are affected:

services/univention-samba/server_password_change.d/univention-samba
management/univention-management-console-module-adtakeover/umc/python/adtakeover/takeover.py
base/univention-system-setup/umc/python/setup/__init__.py
base/univention-system-setup/umc/python/setup/util.p

patch

Maybe this patch? Raising RuntimeError when the functionality is actually used instead of at import time. This might have side effects.
Comment 3 Arvid Requate univentionstaff 2016-06-20 11:18:13 CEST
"libndr-nbt.so.0: invalid ELF header" -- The file is present but unusable? Disc full? Invalid arch?

Or is it a missing package dependency (see Bug #37333)?
Comment 4 Stefan Gohmann univentionstaff 2016-09-17 16:30:57 CEST
I guess we need more information. Has it been reported only once?
