The self service code tries not to use many widgets because prior to UCS4.2 all custom ucs widgets needed to be copied into the self service package.

We should change the code to use more widgets e.g. use a wizard widget instead of removing dom nodes manually.

That should also fix the problem described in bug 42267, comment 29 (input fields are not cleared)

This issue has been filed against UCS 4.2.

UCS 4.2 is out of maintenance and many UCS components have changed in later releases. Thus, this issue is now being closed.

If this issue still occurs in newer UCS versions, please use "Clone this bug" or reopen it and update the UCS version. In this case please provide detailed information on how this issue is affecting you.
