Every time a server reboot or shutdown is initiated using the Server menu in the UMC the server is rebooted or halted properly, but the UMC shows an error message complaining about a non reachable server. As this is exactly what is supposed to happen when shutting down, UMC should handle this case a bit smarter.

The problem is in:
univention-management-console-module-lib/umc/python/lib/server.py

The umc server commands "reboot/shutdown" call '/sbin/shutdown'. The server gets killed due to the shutdown before sending out a response. Resulting in an js error message.
