Univention Bugzilla – Bug 46791
Description of umc/web/piwik is misleading about the default settings
Last modified: 2018-05-16 17:04:21 CEST
related to Bug #30741, introduced with Bug #30741 With the release of UCS 3.1-1, Piwik is enabled by default on systems with evaluation licenses and disabled on systems with customer license. This behave is communicated very well, one example are the release notes: http://docs.software-univention.de/release-notes-4.3-0-en.html#relnotes:usage https://help.univention.com/t/data-collection-in-univention-corporate-server/6701 But the description of the ucr variable is currently misleading about the default settings: Current: # ucr info umc/web/piwik umc/web/piwik: <empty> If this option is activated, anonymous usage statistics on the use of the UMC are collected when using the Univention Core License (which is generally used for evaluating UCS). The modules opened are logged in an instance of the web traffic analysis tool Piwik. This allows Univention to tailor the development better to customer needs and carry out usability improvements. Categories: management-umc Expected: # ucr info umc/web/piwik umc/web/piwik: <empty> If this option is unset or not set to 'false', anonymous usage statistics on the use of the UMC are collected when using the Univention Core License (which is generally used for evaluating UCS). The modules opened are logged in an instance of the web traffic analysis tool Piwik. This allows Univention to tailor the development better to customer needs and carry out usability improvements. Categories: management-umc I am going to write a small patch to fix this.

Modified the description again a bit to better match other wordings in our ucr variable descriptions package: univention-management-console version: 10.0.6-3A~4.3.0.201805080947
Okay.
