In case the transaction file is downsized by following  https://help.univention.com/t/downsizing-transaction-file/6434 the file offsets cached in the index file /var/lib/univention-ldap/notify/transaction.index do not match any more. In that case, the invalid index file will not only be useless, but even slow things down (note: this doesn't apply to the last 1000 changes, as they are still cached in memory). If the notifier detects this situation it should invalidate the index file (e.g. in attachment) and rebuild it.

This issue has been filed against UCS 4.3.

UCS 4.3 is out of maintenance and many UCS components have changed in later releases. Thus, this issue is now being closed.

If this issue still occurs in newer UCS versions, please use "Clone this bug" or reopen it and update the UCS version. In this case please provide detailed information on how this issue is affecting you.
