Description Dirk Schnick univentionstaff 2020-02-28 11:33:36 CET
Since UCC is not being developed further, there is currently no possibility to use Linux @school.

It would be desirable to have at least a tool- or script-supported support for joining the clients to the school slave.

Despite restrictions in share access and class work mode, there are different possibilities of use at schools; e.g. internet terminal, computer lessons on different OS, programming under Linux. The usage of Linux should 'be open'

Existing restrictions should be pointed out explicitly.
Comment 1 Ingo Steuwer univentionstaff 2020-02-29 13:44:47 CET
UCC had never full support for UCS@school integration, there were several limitations in the "classroom" module.

As "successor" of UCC the Ubuntu join assistant exiists, which brings similar features to Ubuntu LTS for the end user (teacher or pupil), with similar limitations regarding classroom features.

I close this Bug Report as this is a very general request. Please create individual Feature Requests against @school or the Ubuntu Join Client for things currently missing but expected by customers.

I don't understand, why this Feature Request is closed. It is a pretty specific request. The customer wants to join his Ubuntu client in a @school environment with the Domain Join Client.
If this feature request is not correct in this category, we can change the category.

The request does not contain any functionality from @school but only the join against the school slave.

Then I misunderstood the requirment and it is completely fine to reopen the bug. As you have cloned it to #50896 I'll close this on as it's a duplicate.
