Univention Bugzilla – Bug 53033
Printer "cups-pdf:/" with a space as target does not add the printer any more
Last modified: 2021-08-25 17:00:20 CEST
In our blog article and also in the video linked there it is explained that a new pdf printer can be added with a space char in the mandatory field "target". Assigning a space char to the field still works, but then there is no printer added to cups. source: https://www.univention.de/blog-de/2019/05/how-to-printserver-administration-mit-ucs/
It seems to work with an arbitrator non-empty string though.
Does it work in UCS 4.4?
Needed for UCS@school
We should instead or additionally fix Bug #24081 - which allows to specify a printer URI without spaces as separator for subsyntaxes of complex syntaxes. A space here would then be the printer uri='"cups-pdf:/" " "' which could also much easier be specified by just "cups-pdf:/".
