I find the portal search button behaviour and style a bit strange in comparison to the rest of the symbols/buttons in the upper right corner (notifications and settings menu).

When you click the search button and then click somewhere else to deselect it, the button stays selected (green color) and you can still see the background of the search bar.

That didn't bother me too much in the portal, but when you open a module the search box is not visible anymore due to the colors used (dark theme). The only thing that stands out is the remaining green search button symbol. The search box itself, which of course is still clickable, is visually hidden.


I would suggest/expect a behaviour that is identical to the one from the notifications button..

click on search button -> symbol turns green, search bar appears, search bar is selected

deselect by clicking somewhere else -> symbol turns grey, search bar disappears completely
