Comment 1 Dirk Ahrnke univentionstaff 2022-02-11 11:08:40 CET
same issue when trying to join a 4.4-8 errata1174 into a domain installed with UCS 5, (primary at 5.0-1 errata203)

Looking at the error
E: object not found: cn=domain,cn=portal,cn=univention,dc=****,dc=de
it looks like the join script expects an entry which does not exist anymore in UCS 5 (where all portal-entries are expected to be in cn=portals,cn=univention)

noticed during partner-training
Comment 2 Dirk Ahrnke univentionstaff 2022-02-18 09:52:20 CET
it should be noticed that this problem causes univention-join to stop after the error which will effectively prevent a complete join in case the domain was installed with UCS 5
possible workaround: run univention-run-join-scripts to run at least the following joinscripts
Comment 3 Erik Damrose univentionstaff 2022-05-31 16:55:06 CEST
I also experienced this while testing. Workaround was to just remove the offending joinscript and run univention-join again.

rm /usr/lib/univention-install/35univention-server-overview.inst
