We blacklist every path that is not whitelisted for shares. The whitelist is configurable via UCR listener/shares/whitelist/...

This is not mentioned in our documentation. 

This is a little bit dramatic as we have a technical issue that UMC is not reporting an error if a share in a not whitelisted path is created. (Bug #54945)
