Description Philipp Hahn univentionstaff 2022-11-25 09:44:47 CET
When the configured DNS server is not the Primary, e.g. some home-router doing DHCP, auto-detecting the Primary via DNS-reverse lookup of the client respective DNS server IPs fails as there will never be a SRC-RR "_domaincontroller_master._tcp.$domainname".

The client should do that auto-detection at start and FORCE the user to specify the Primary manually in that case. if auto-detection works the users should get the OPTION to overwrite it manually.

As is this leads to strange failures and to questions in the forum as the mechanism happening in the background is in-transparent to the user and impossible to diagnose themselves.
