Description Mirac Erdemiroglu univentionstaff 2023-06-15 11:48:25 CEST
If the UMC user import fails, you will get the following message like:

The data check failed.

UserImportJob #1 (dry run) ended with error.

Read users from input data: 4

Errors: 2

Entry | User | Error description
-------------------------------------

    0 | <No name> | source_uid or record_uid are not set (source_uid='univentionschool2-staff' record_uid=None).

    0 | <No name> | More than 0 errors.

Please notify the administrator about the error by e-mail.

But there is no link or any button so send an e-mail to the admin.

In the document für ucs@school it is written, that's the default process:
https://docs.software-univention.de/ucsschool-umc-user-import/5.0/de/import.html#id6

Update: The mail was not sent because the required configuration was missing (see https://docs.software-univention.de/ucsschool-umc-user-import/5.0/de/install.html?highlight=ucsschool+import+error+mail+address#konfiguration )

I did adjust to make it a documentation issue instead: In the first chapter it is written that an e-mail will be sent and in the second chapter the necessary configuration is mentioned.
I totally see why this confusion happened - If you work your way through to manual from front to back first the workflow is described and afterwards the steps needed to make it work.
I would suggest to either:

1. Give a hint within step 4 that the mail will only be sent if the configuration from chapter 2 was done or
2. Change the order of chapters
