The UMC diagnostic check for gateway doesn't work with some hosters which don't support ICMP on the gateway address.

We could adjust the check to support checking some customizable address for connectivity instead of "$(ucr get gateway)". This was proposed by an UCS user that would like to e.g. define diagnostic/check/gateway/address=8.8.8.8 to see that connectivity is given.
