+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #40516 +++

The univention-ldap package was forked for a customer.
Changes:
* Configuration parameter in slapd.conf. Issue #576 & #3153
* Disabled univention-ldap-backup cronjob. Issue #2224
* Configuration parameter in ldap.conf. Issue #3074 & #2771

Goal is to create an API or merge the fork to the product.


This bug handles only the "Configuration parameter in ldap.conf. Issue #3074"
Asked the author for clarification.

Commit bd501caa92b0104bce26be5c79ab1fb19ba3b7b9 adds a new UCR variable 'ldap/client/network_timeout' for the /etc/ldap/ldap.conf UCR template. The Value of the variable is set as NETWORK_TIMEOUT in /etc/ldap/ldap.conf.

This is optional (only if ldap/client/network_timeout is set)

NETWORK_TIMEOUT <integer>
       Specifies the timeout (in seconds) after which the poll(2)/select(2) 
       following a connect(2) returns in case of no activity.

This was needed for faster ldap failover.
