Für Clients, die ihr Heimatverzeichnis nicht lokal ablegen, könnte es eine Konfigurationsmöglichkeit geben, in der in der UMC festgelegt wird, welche Freigabe beim Systemstart als /home eingebunden wird.

Neben NFS wäre auch der Einsatz von CIFS als Zugriffsprotokoll zu testen/erwägen.

Wir haben das hier intern mit pam_mount gemacht. Der kann alle möglichen Sachen beim Login einbinden. 
Ein Problem ist aber der Passwort-Wechsel über pam_krb5.
