In großen Umgebungen ist aufgefallen, dass das Setzen der Locale ein wenig Zeit kosten kann. In 3.1 ist eine Ladeanimation hinzugekommen, die die Zeit, bis UMC einsatzbereit ist, "überbrückt". Dort sollte man alles hinzufügen, was noch vor der Modulinitialisierung geschieht. Dadurch hat der Benutzer immer das Gefühl, es ginge voran - momentan sitzt er eine Weile vor einer leeren Seite.

Ist das noch relevant? Vor kurzem habe ich in einer Umgebung mit > 30.000 Benutzern getestet und dort ist es mir nicht aufgefallen.

Kann auch mit langsamer/beanspruchter Festplatte (oder CPU) zu tun haben. Hin und wieder sehe ich es.

umcp/set locale is only executed after authentication. In UCS 4.2 I will remove that explicit call and use the locale provided during authentication. So we need no other loading animation than the login dialog - which has this animation since UCS 4.1 already.
