Univention Bugzilla – Bug 32313
Show hint for UDM UMC modules if corresponding packages are missing (DHCP, DNS, Nagios, Printers, Mail)
Last modified: 2019-01-03 07:19:51 CET
Currently, the UDM UMC flavors DHCP, DNS, Nagios, Printers, Mail are activated by default. To reduce the initial complexity, it could be helpful to activate the flavors in the corresponding packages. This could also prevent a misleading intuition when configuring LDAP objects before installing the respective services.
On the other side, testusers with a freshly installed system can see only very few modules and therefore they are unable to discover the whole scope of services.
I think that there are two options: (a) A tester explores the possibilities of UCS by being bombarded with all configuration possibilities at once. (b) A tester explores the possibilities of UCS by having a look at the App center (→ see Bug 32301) and by installing whatever tools he might need. Option (a) seems to be more adequate in my point of view.
(In reply to Alexander Kläser from comment #2) > ... > Option (a) seems to be more adequate in my point of view. Oops, I mean option (b) :) !
… third option: (c) Prompt a hint/warning that the corresponding software components have not been installed.
It seems that the milestone has been removed by accident.
Once again (Ticket #2016122721000233): 1 - In the dashboard show only the modules installed, for example, had not installed the DHCP module, but it appeared in the interface which left me confused whether it was installed or not;
