Univention Bugzilla – Bug 35735
no UCS grub menu/bootsplash after installing UCS appliance
Last modified: 2014-11-26 06:54:44 CET
Installed UCS 4.0 and skipped USS (appliance). The grub boot menu is still in the debian design and there is no bootsplash => univention-grub is not installed The installer should install univention-grub for a proper UCS appliance
I think the following packages should be installed when univention-system-setup-boot is installed: - univention-kernel-image - univention-grub - univention-bootsplash
OK: univention-kernel-image OK: univention-bootsplash <- univention-initrd <- univention-kernel-image MISSING: univention-grub (as no role package is yet installed) r53216 | Bug #35735 USS: Install univention-grub Package: univention-system-setup Version: 8.0.34-1.660.201409020855 Branch: ucs_4.0-0 r53226 | Bug #35735 CD: Install univention-grub Package: repo-ng Version: 2.0-68.1314.201409021024 Branch: ucs_3.2-0 Scope: internal debian-installer-images_20130613.87.20140902102612_amd64.tar.gz ucs_4.0-0-20140902-110115-dvd-amd64.iso
I've installed an appliance (no role package was installed). I didn't see a UCS grub menu and a UCS bootsplash during the first boot.

OK, it works now.
