Description Moritz Muehlenhoff univentionstaff 2015-03-05 11:29:15 CET
When creating an Amazon EC2 instance in UVMM, only the internal and external IP address of the cloud instance in shown in the settings, but not the DNS name provided by Amazon.

It should also display the external DNS name provided by Amazon (e.g. ec2-54-155-99-130.eu-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com), so that users can use this name when configuring the instance.

We already had a look into this when fixing Bug 36905, which introduced these links in uvmm in the first place. Libcloud does not return the external DNS name of the machine, so we chose to only show the IP address.

We may have another look at this with an updated libcloud version (Bug #36584)

display public dns_name

By replacing pubic_ip with dns_name, the fronted will display the external DNS name. But there is some more work needed, because amazon's url are very long and do not fit into the TextBox and the clickable link is warped into two lines.
