updater.log is filled with DEBUG level ouput from the univention.appcenter lib.
The daily upgrades are not 100 lines long, not 10.

We should set the loglevel to at least INFO.

No, we should remove the appcenter stuff completely from the updater.log. There is a apccnter.log.

Currently it is very hard to extract useful information from the updater.log.

I have removed the logging to updater.log completely. Instead there is a hint to look into appcenter.log
