Univention Bugzilla – Bug 40390
Running Samba 4 during rejoin on a school slave
Last modified: 2016-01-17 23:31:19 CET
See Bug #40389. The Samba 4 service is stopped at the beginning of univention-join but it is started in 62ucs-school-slave.inst. If available, crestart should be used. Ticket #2015121821000547
Successful build Package: ucs-school-metapackage Version: 7.0.3-7.168.201601121627 User: arequate Branch: ucs_4.0-0 Scope: ucs-school-4.0r2
In 62ucs-school-slave.inst and 62ucs-school-nonedu-slave.inst right after restarting samba, - samba4/join/site is set and - secrets.ldb and sam.ldb are moved away. This code branch is only executed if "$JS_LAST_EXECUTED_VERSION -lt 1", so my questions are: 1) is there any case where samba is really restarted during (re)join? 2) in case samba is restarted: is it a good idea to set the site afterwards and move the ldb files away while samba is running?
I would say that is a separate issue and I created Bug 40424 for that, but I also agree that it is more efficient to fix that now.
Fixing Bug 40424 needs thorough testing that would adverse the current time frame. Bug 40424 has been present for a long time and fixing this Bug here shouldn't cause a regression in that area. In the contrary, it should help avoid that issue all together in most cases.
OK: code change OK: functional test
