New CSS for the tree

The tree needs to be styled according to the mockups. +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #43451 +++

Several points I noticed: * The +/- icons are too large and to not fit the current style. * It was previously possible to click on a plus icon and if the element found out that it had no children, the icon would disappear. Is this possible here, as well?
... * I feel that it would make sense to use less space between the items.
