Description Michael Grandjean univentionstaff 2018-02-11 17:18:34 CET
Scenario: A user is logged in with their personal account (=not "Administrator") which is member of "Domain Admins". Using the App Center and installing Apps works fine, until they try to install a Docker App that is based on the UCS docker image.
Because those Apps (Dudle, Etherpad ...) need to join as a UCS memberserver and joining a UCS system requires also that the user is member of "DC Backup Hosts". If this group membership is missing, the join will fail which in turn prevents the App from being installed.

Unfortunately, the error message in the App Center module is quite generic.
IMHO we should:
1) state clearly which permissions are needed to join a UCS system in the manual
2) link to this section when a join fails in all relevant error messages
