Description Arvid Requate univentionstaff 2019-04-16 18:41:19 CEST
As documented via Bug #47193, a UCS server can only be joined into a UCS domain using an account that is not only member of "Domain Admins" but also of "DC Backup Hosts".

If the specified user account can authenticate but is not member of both of these groups, the UCS system setup should issue an error message and point to the relevant section of the documentation.

This is e.g. relevant for AD Member setups, where the Master can be joined using an account != Administrator that is only member of "Domain Admins", but the join of the next UCS system would fail, if it has not been added. to "DC Backup Hosts".

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #47193 +++

System setup and also univention-join should check the group membership of the join account. Otherwise hard to debug issues may occur, see e.g. bug 52510
